An overstability analysis of vertically vibrated suspension of active swimmers subjected to thermal stratification

چکیده

Abstract The present article focuses on the analytical approach to discuss thermo–vibrational convection in a suspension of active (gyrotactic) swimmers. onset instability criterion is investigated for stationary and oscillatory modes shallow fluid layer with no–slip rigid–free walls. eigenvalue problem tackled by Galerkin scheme get desired stability diagram correlation between critical Rayleigh numbers. overstability possible when unstable density gradient gyrotactic particles opposed variation due influence. destabilized up–swimming while increase Péclet number stabilizes system. stabilizing influence vertical vibration considerably affected thermal which destabilizes suspension. An interesting result this study parameter associated applied vibrational properties. We reported that destabilizing nature becomes thermally or vibrationally governed heated cooled from below. When compared rigid–rigid boundaries, displayed profiles walls yielded less stableness
